Chamber Music Definition

Chamber music is a form of art music that is composed for playing by a small number of musicians in a small, intimate space, such as a palace chamber or drawing room, with each part typically played by a single performer, and with no conductor. This contrasts with orchestral music, which is intended for performance by many musicians, including a conductor, in a concert hall or other large space and in which each string part, and usually other parts as well, is played by a number of musicians.
